Jaaja Barb’s Home of Angels is a
non-profit organization partnering with the Kuwasha International Development Society in Canada and is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Jinja, Uganda,
East Africa. Certificate of registration
is No. 13158, issued by the National Board of Non-Governmental Organizations, Kampala, Uganda.
We were established 9 years ago
by Barb Giraud residing in Canada and Edwin Lufafa, in Jinja, Uganda. Barb and Edwin have built this home solely to
house orphans who are in desperate need.
These vulnerable children are alone, some living with HIV/AIDS and in acute
poverty. It is our intention to house, educate and protect them. We had no other way than by baking banana
bread to accomplish this task. To date we have baked approximately 12,000 loaves and with the word spreading and donors assistance, we are able to continue work on the completion of both the children's compound and the farm compound.
Our goal for the farming project will be 500 layer chickens and 10 goats for milk. Protein is very necessary for these children with their medical issues. We have also planted a large garden with maize, kale, spinach, eggplant, tomatoes and many other local vegetables.
We are now in our 9th year and currently housing 25 children. After receiving a donation to finish the 2nd children's home, we now have the ability to expand to our maximum of 45 children. God's timing was perfect as we recently found 20 little ones, ages 3 to 5 years old who were abandoned from an orphanage near us and suffering greatly.
Our biggest challenge will be to find the operating funds to meet the monthly costs and with God's help, anything is possible.
