An Update

We would like to thank everyone for the generous response to our story.  Because of you, we are making incredible progress.  The children's house is nearing completion. We still have a long way to go - from furnishing the home to building the caretakers house to digging the well.  Thanks to you, we are well on our way.

I wanted to share an updated photo of the progress that has been made, thanks to your generosity.  We have received donations from around the world:  London, Poland, Arizona, New York, California, Minnesota and all across Canada.  Because of the generous hearts of so many people wanting to help the less fortunate in the world, we have been blessed with the trust of so many, disbursing 100% of the donations towards this project.

Global TV in British Columbia, Canada has been such a huge supporter, having featured Jaaja Barb's Home of Angels three times.  They have shown that a simple banana bread can make a huge difference in building a dream.  If you would like to see the coverage that we have received from Global TV, please click on the links below.

Edwin

What a special person Edwin is….A young man who has devoted his life to helping the children on the streets of Jinja, Uganda.  It was Edwin's dream to build this home for these kids but without financial assistance, it was virtually impossible.  After many conversations with him, I decided to try and help him make that difference.  For many years people asked me to bake banana bread for them so I thought I would bake it in quantity, making enough to buy one thing at a time, brick by brick and banana by banana.

The team of men who gave so much of themselves

Edwin's friends came to our aid, working tirelessly in 40°C  and donating their time for very little money.  What a team of "Angels".  We are so blessed to know they will be back to help build the next home for staff to look after the children.  Thanks to all of you, this will be starting very soon.

If you are interested in helping us build this dream, please contact me through my email jaajabarbshomeofangels@gmail.com
